Savory Pork Loin Roast

Yep, that’s what I made for supper tonight.

Pork Roast

This morning I put a pork roast in the crock pot.

In the bowl I combined:

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 6 garlic cloves, minuced
  • 1 T each basil, rosemary and sage
  • 1 T ground mustard.

I poured it over the roast, added 1 cup of water to the crock pot and let it cook on low for 8 – 10 hours.

This roast was very savory and tender.  I ended up having mine on a salad because I was craving lettuce.

Romaine lettuce, tomatoe, pork loin and western dressing

The kids ate it plan but boy oh boy was it good.

You can also make a gravy for the roast, which I did not do.

But in a large saucepan, saute 8 green onions chopped in 2 T butter until tender.  Combine 1/4 cup brown gravy mix and 2 1/2 cups beef broth until smooth; stir into the pan.  Bring to a boil.  Reduce heat; cook and stir until thickened.  Stir in 1 1/4 cups sour cream and 2 T prepared horseradish; heat through (do not boil).  Serve with pork.

You can also cook the roast in the oven uncovered at 325° for 1-1/2 hours or until meat therometer reads 160°.  Let roast stand for 10 minutes before slicing.

The kids loved this and I will definitely be making it again.  Now it is off to get Chickie from volleyball practice and then to watch Dance with Stars!  Have a great night.
