Not your Grandma’s Shoes

Do you remember the brand Naturalizer?

This is a shoe brand that my grandmother always wore when I was a kid.  She wore them because she said they were comfortable.  I always thought they were ugly and they never really matched her outfit.  They were lace up shoes that were pretty plain.

Well Naturalizer has changed.

I love these shoes.  Who knew Naturalizers had such great shoes and if they are as comfortable as my grandmother said they were many years ago, I think I have found a new shoe brand that I want to try.

Shoe Saturday

Today is Saturday which means it is Shoe Saturday.  Yeah!!!

So I thought in honor of Kim Kardashian and Kris Humprhies Wedding today I thought I would do a post in regards to her shoe website.

Her shoe website is Shoe Dazzle.  What this website is a monthly club in which you are given different options of shoes, purses and jewelry that you may or may not buy each month.  Now I love this website.  I have ordered some shoes from here before and I absolutely love them plus they are good quality shoes.

These are just two of the shoes that I have ordered from the site plus I have ordered the jewelry as well.  If you love shoes as much as I do, then you should definitely check out this site.

Many happy wishes to Kim and Kris for their wedding and may they find a lifetime of happiness together.

Shoe Saturday

Okay, a couple of weeks ago I said I would start a Shoe Saturday post.  Obviously I failed on that big time.  So here is the first Shoe Saturday of many (hopefully) Shoe Saturday posts.

As you know the blog is called “Mother of 2 Lover of Shoes”.  Yes, I love shoes.

So I will start with one pair of my very own shoes.  I love these shoes.  I picked them up at Younkers 1 year ago.  They are dressy but yet I can wear them with capris and still blue jeans if need be.  I originally bought these for a wedding we went to but I have found out that I wear them more and more to work.

Just one of the many outfits that I have worn with these shoes.

What do you think of these shoes?  Would you wear them?

Shoe Saturday

Thanks for stopping by my Shoe Page.  I love shoes, hence why I my blog is called Mother of 2 Lover of Shoes.  Here is just a glimpse into my shoes:

Yes, this isn’t even all of my shoes.  What can I say.  I love, love, love shoes.  So I have decided to start doing posts on Saturdays about shoes.  The post will either be about my shoes or about some other shoe that I have come across.  Hope you enjoy these future posts.

When the alarm doesn’t go off

So Hubby set his alarm last night (or so he says) because we needed to get up at 5:00 to put garbage out and needed to get a few things done before work.  Well, the alarm didn’t go off.  We woke up at 5:55, not good at all.  Hubby leaves for work at 6:30.  Nothing like flying around the house this morning.  So as Hubby jumped in the shower I took the pups on a real quick walk, I mean a real quick walk, right to the backyard.  They weren’t too happy with me.  Hubby didn’t even get to sit to read the paper.

In fact, he did a quick scan of the paper while he drank his cup of joe.  Then he was going through the cupboards looking for something to take to work for breakfast.  I have no clue what he took but I do believe he did find something.  We did get the garbage out.

Just in time to, the blue bucket is our recycable.  As you can tell they have already picked it up.

After Hubby went to work, I got in the shower and the kiddos were up, I had time for breakfast.

In the mix today is Chobani Raspberry Yogurt, Dried Fruit, Sweet Potatoe Puffs and Quaker Oatmeal Squares along with a cup of Joe.  This satisifed my sweet tooth that was talking to me this morning.

This is what our dining room table looks like right now.

These are the things that we received from the funeral.  The plant, ribbons programs and 3 blocks of wood.  The 3 blocks of wood were on the corner of the casket and they took them off before they lowered the casket into the ground.  One is for Hubby, Bubba and Chickie.  I need to figure out how to make something with them.  I need to make a shadow box or something else with them.  If anyone has any ideas, it would help me out greatly.   Thanks for any ideas.

P.S.  The Shoe Page has been updated, finally.

Sometimes you are just too tired.

Sometimes you are just too tired to blog.  Last night was one of those so I did not blog.  All I did was lay on the couch and went to bed early.

So I will back up to yesterday.  Before I went to the gym I was starving.  Obviously my smoothie from the morning did not stick with me.

I had about 4 bites of the Luna Bar Carmel Nut Brownie.  This is very good but since I knew I would be hitting the gym in about 20 minutes I didn’t want to eat too much.  This held me over while I worked out.

I went to the gym for our circuit class at 11:30.  OMG my arms are sore today.  The trainer had me increase my weights and now my arms are feeling it.  I’m glad that he had me increase the weights because I just wasn’t feeling it the last week and half of going to the class.  Now if only the number on the scale would start dropping I would be so, so happy.

So for lunch yesterday:

So it was $5.00 salad and sandwiches at Olde Boston’s so I had to get the Fried Chicken Salad.  Okay, the fried chicken isn’t the best for you but it tasted oh so good.  I ended up not eating the bread that came with it (yeah me) and I only had 1/4 of the ranch dressing.  I did eat all of the lettuce, fried chicken, bacon and cheese.  Needed it after my workout and it held me over for the rest of the afternoon.  I didn’t even need my 3:00 snack like I usually do.  I must not be eating enough at noon to tide me over for supper.

Speaking about supper, when I got home hubby had supper ready.

Tacos.  I only had one of these bad boys.  In the mix was taco meat, lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, greek yogurt and taco sauce.  Folded it all up and I ate it.  Yum, yum.

I spent the rest of the night on the couch vegging and watching American Idol.  Oh, I guess I did about 20 minutes of a workout.  Didn’t care for the workout at all.

This morning I got up and took the pups for a walk.  The ground was frosty, there were clouds in the sky and the birds where a singing.  It was so peaceful out.  When I got back and got my shower I was hungry.

Big bowl of oatmeal was in store since the smoothie did not stick with me yesterday.

In the mix:

  • 1/3 cup oats
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup almond milk
  • 1/2 frozen banana

I microwaved it for 1 1/2 minutes

  • 1 spoonful peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup blackberries
  • 1 T mini chocolate chips

This hit the spot and I am full now.  I forgot to take a picture of my cup of Joe but you know I always have that for breakfast.

Now off to get the kiddos ready for school and me off to work.  Have a great Thursday!!

Good Morning!!!

beautiful morning

Please excuse the dirty window, mental note – need to clean windows.  This is the view out my kitchen window this morning.  How georgeous is the sun coming up.

So this morning I got up and ran.

It actually felt great running this morning.  I am still following the coach to 5k plan and this is week 3 where I run for 90 seconds, walk for 90 seconds, run for 3 minutes, walk for 3 minutes, repeat twice.  I actually only ended up walking 90 seconds and ran 3 minutes each time.  I do believe that I am getting stronger with running and it didn’t feel like work it was so nice to be out at 5:15 running.  It was so peaceful and i actually enjoyed it.  Yeah me, I’m making progress.

So thanks to an empty peanut butter jar I got to have oats in a jar for breakfast.

Oats in a Jar

Last night in the jar I put:

  • 1/2 c. oatmeal (old fashioned)
  • 1/2 c. almond milk
  • 1/4 c. greek vanilla yogurt
  • Dash of cinnamon.

Then this morning I added fresh strawberries and Kashi Go Lean Crunch cereal.  Yum.

With a side of Joe

Today I am making sure I get my coffee so I won’t be so tired the rest of the day.  Now time to get the kiddos ready for school.  They do not want to go but it is going to be 69° today and they need to get back to school after having yesterday off.  Have a great day.
