Quick Calzones

Before I get to the calzones, must back up to what I had for lunch.  After the gym I was starving so I ordered a salad from the restaurant in our building.

Fried Chicken Salad

Yes it is fried chicken and yes I did eat it all but I was starving.  I did not eat the bread though.

So Hubby made supper last night.  Isn’t he the best?

He made Quick Calzones.

You will need:

  • 1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, thawed
  • 1 cup spaghetti sauce
  • 1/4 c. shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 to 2 T milk
  • 1 T grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 t Italian seasoning
  • sausage, mushrooms, green peppers (whatever other fillings you would like)

Divid bread dough into four portions; roll each into a 6-in. circle.  Spoon 1/4 c. of sauce on half of each circle to within 1/2 in. of edges.  Sprinkle each with 1 T of mozzarella cheese.

Fold dough over the filling and press edges firmly to seal.  Bruch with milk.  Combine Parmesan cheese and Italian seasoning; sprinkle evenly over the calzones.

Place on a greased baking sheet.  Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until golden brown.  Yield: 4 servings.

These are fantastic.  We added sausage, mushroom and green peppers to ours plus hubby left the cheese out of mine.  These are quick and easy.

This morning I got up and took the pups for a walk and yes it was drizzling out.  June gloom continues in Iowa.

Breakfast:

another yogurt bowl.  In the mix: blueberry greek yogurt, granola and blueberries.  Yum, yum.

As I leave for work this morning this is the kiddos:

Life is rough when you are on summer vacation.

Do not take my picture.

Someone is not happy at all.

Have a great day!!!!
